2000 Plus

Client: Consolidated Marking

Duties: package design, print design, brand design

Previously, while the 2000 Plus brand carried a variety of stamp lines, each stamp carried its own brand visuals united only by a logo, creating a fractured brand image. The redesign of the most popular stamps in the Printer Series required creating new materials for the line as well as updates to include the redesign in past materials. That made for the perfect moment to strengthen 2000 Plus as a brand by unifying all stamp lines under a single visual umbrella.

A visual design was developed with a simple and modern style that used color blocking previously used in prior catalogs for a striking way to distinguish different stamp lines that was still familiar to the customer base. Further using the geometric look of the front-facing photography, a mosaic presentation of various stamps was used to create a dynamic and eye-catching cover.

Two years after the roll out of this visual system, a stamp line that had previously been branded separately was folded into the 2000 Plus as the HD line. Switching the main color to dark grey was a simple way to separate this product category from the main line while still keeping the same overall brand look.

The first need for this new visual style was new packaging for a resdesign of the most popular printer series stamps. Because this was going to be carried out across all of 2000 Plus, I wanted to create concepts for stamps that would need very different packaging dimensions to get an early idea of how to scale across different applications.

After packaging, printed collateral was the next step, including reworking a catalog for the entire line, where, aside from using the same color coding that had previously been used, page layout for featured product page would also provide more cues in how to apply design cues from the packaging.

In 2016, a stamp that was branded separately as a stand-alone offering was given a small redesign and was folded into the 2000 Plus brand. While this stamp would be a 2000 Plus stamp, its different function would need to be featured on its own.
